Turkey and Azerbaijan supply Bayraktar drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The myth of the «amazing» combat capabilities of the Turkish Bayraktar UAV was born during the Nagorno-Karabakh war in 2020 and dispelled in 2022 during a special military operation to protect the DPR and LPR conducted by the Russian Armed Forces (RAF).

There was not a word about Turkish UAVs at the beginning of the operation. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) could not even use it. On February 24, the media reported that the RAF destroyed all Bayraktar drones in service with the AFU. Most of the them were neutralized on the ground; several units were shot down in the air.

But then the situation changed, and videos of the use of UAVs began to appear on social networks after the Turkish and Azerbaijani authorities announced that they are sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine. After that, against this backdrop of the appearance of new videos with the use of Bayraktars by the AFU and at the same time their destruction by russian air defense, a number of questions arise: were not all Bayraktars destroyed? Where did the new ones come from? Who supplies them to Ukraine?

Reliable sources report that in the so-called «humanitarian aid» among other weapons Turkey and Azerbaijan are sending a new shipment of Bayraktar’s together with Turkish and Azerbaijani instructors.

Of course, it is impossible to compare the obtained results with those obtained during the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh. At the time Turkey sent its attack drones with Turkish instructors to Azerbaijan to use them against the Armenians. And today Ankara and Baku are secretly helping Ukraine to use them against Russian troops.

In this context, it is very important to note that on February 22 of this year, during a meeting with Putin, Aliyev signed a Declaration on Allied Cooperation, which clearly states that «The Russian Federation and Azerbaijan refrain from any actions that, in the opinion of one of the Parties, harm the strategic partnership and allied relations of the two states» (paragraph 7). «The Parties refrain from any actions, including those carried out through third states, directed against each other» (paragraph 17).

This is another proof to those states that still believe that any friendly relations are possible with Turkey or Azerbaijan.

Sooner or later they will stab you in the back, and if they haven’t done it yet, it’s only for one reason, they haven’t had a chance yet.
